CyberTracker Trailing Evaluation

Kersey Lawrence of CyberTracker International visits as guest instructor, offering a highly sought after trailing evaluation.

Follow tracks through landscapes with the purpose of finding and observing the animal(s) that made them—while remaining undetected. Trailing builds knowledge of wildlife and local landscapes, confidence to follow trail in difficult conditions, heightened awareness and stealth, and an ability to move quietly through field and forest in small groups.

The purpose of the CyberTracker Trailing Evaluation assesses the tracker’s ability to follow an individual animal’s (or group of animals) spoor across the landscape,  and to evaluate the tracker’s ability to interpret the behavior of the animal(s) on the trail and to locate that specific animal or group.  Locating the animal involves finding, approaching to within a reasonable distance, observing and exiting the area without alerting the animal to the tracker’s presence.  Species followed will include wild boar, roe deer, or fallow deer.
