Tuition-free: Thanks to funding by Tracker Certification’s Financial Access Fund. Half of the spots are reserved for BIPOC. All spots are available first-come, first-served. The application process ensures participation spots are equitably distributed.
Lodging: Fees tba -nobody turned away for lack of funds.
Affinity Event: This community weekend is solely a space for LGBTQIA2+ trackers & naturalists. This is a unique way of connecting with other species –going beyond observation into deep relationship.
Certification: Both an educational workshop and a way of representing one’s ability to identify and interpret tracks and sign of a particular region. Participants can expect to encounter tracks & sign from mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects, and other environmental processes throughout. Accessibility: The certification involves two days, approximately 7-8 hours each of physical exertion in outdoor conditions (rain, wind, or shine), covering 2-3 miles of distance/day. Participants may be walking, standing, waiting, bending/squatting, seated, and moving on uneven and wet terrain during the days. A first aid kit will be available and facilitators have training in wilderness medicine. The lodging facilities are not ADA accessible. For those staying on site, a designated quiet area with sensory materials will be available.
